So disappointed

I am so disappointed. I bought a cloak from here for my Husband’s Valentine’s Day gift and he and I were both really excited about it. We realized when it got here that I had accidentally ordered the wrong size (size, big and tall when he is a 5’7, clearly a mistake). When I ordered it, I bought a size exchange and wasn’t aware they were final sale. To create further confusion, and also provide me with false confidence that I could return the cloak if needed, their website auto-added a guaranteed return option to the cart which I left in the cart (and paid for) with the purchase to ensure I could return the cloak if there were any issues. After realizing the issue with the size, we reached out the company and explained the issue, with a request to exchange the original cloak and pay the difference for the correct size and. The company could not have been less empathetic about the situation. They stated it was final sale and therefore could not do anything about the issue. When asked why the website auto-added the guaranteed return option to the cart (which we paid for) if that wasn’t available for the purchase we made, they stated that it was a mistake on their end, it shouldn’t have been added and all they could do was refund us the guaranteed return option fee we paid for. I understand companies have policies about final sale options, but this was very clearly a mistake. We were hoping the company could make an exception and work with us, considering the mistake on their end of providing us the guaranteed return option (which was auto-added into our cart by them) giving me the false hope that a return was in fact possible. These cloaks are very expensive. My husband was so excited for this. We are two young parents who work full time jobs and this was very costly to us. The customer service from this company was extremely disappointing and I would not recommend this company to anyone.
