Stays in place well on my desk for the most part. If you're using your mouse regularly it won't move, but if you accidentally push the edge with your palm or wrist then it will. My mouse tracks great on it, but I don't play FPSes so don't quote me on that. Probably better than a mouse pad that you would get on Amazon for the same price.
