VIOFO CPL Filters

Easy to fit, a firm fit and is very effective

I purchased the CPL for two reason: to reduce or eliminate refections of the dashboard in the video and to improve the image quality in terms of contrast and saturation of colours. To test this I took a short drive with the CPL attached and where , over the course of the drive, the sun would be in all directions. I then repeated that drive without the CPL. I can say with 100% confidence that the CPL either eliminated or significantly reduced the reflections of the dashboard in the video. Also, it reduced the amount of glare and so increased the contrast and colour saturation. This general improvement in image quality was dependent on the direction of the sun but was noticeable at all times. With the dashcam having such a wide field of view the polarizing effect on the sky as not uniform from left to right across the sky but this was only noticeable if you looked for it and is a known issue with polarizing filters on wide angle lenses.

the filter is good to reduce light glare but i feel after installed the filter when filming in the dusk the edges of frame become a bit darker then before, should i just increase the ev value or any adjust i can do? thanks.

I haven't used the camera without the cpl filter so I can't comment on the video quality with and without it. What I can comment on was the second to none customer service I received. Pre and post sale services were excellent. I can't thank Zaid and staff enough for their help with the purchase and solving my issue with the "add a fuse" plugs. I mentioned the issue on a Tuesday evening and by Thursday afternoon I had the replacement cables in my hands.
