UAD make great plugins. This compressor series was a great deal made better by the fact that they sound fantastic and operate in an expected, familiar, way compared to the hardware they emulate. There differences between the models are slight but noticeable. There sre many other 1176 clones but these are my go-to, esp the blue face.

Easy to use

There are many 1176 plugins, but this one sounds exactly as I imagined and is very easy to understand.

Improves guitars

Used the 1176 Rev E from this collection along with The Stealer amp from S Gear/Scuffham bundle (bought separately on the Scuffham website) to get a great Warren Haynes Allman Brothers tone/feel in Logic Pro. I used some other plugins as well (UAD 610 - which is free right now, TDR Nova EQ, TDR Kotelnilov, and Valhalla Room reverb) but this 1176 is what gave me that final 5-10% of tone/feel which was was that hard to describe key piece. I am very pleased as that last bit of tone is where a lot of inspiration lives and will use this on all my virtual amp guitar tones going forward.
