The sounds are excellent, with interesting and distinctive choices that work well across a wide range of productions. As expected, the snares are deeply sampled and offer extensive control over bleed and room microphone levels, which also makes it really fun to play with. In terms of sound quality, this expansion easily earns 5 out of 5 stars. Control-wise, I’d rate it 4 out of 5, mainly due to the lack of separate mixing control between the top and bottom snare microphones. Having independent control over those mics would save a significant amount of production time and help resolve common mixing challenges.
