AIR OPx-4

This Could be THE ONE

I've been collecting FM plugins in my search for a particularly modulated sound. A sound that I remember from the 80s but have not yet been able to reproduce. This is getting VERY close. Well done AIR, this one's very powerful. 👍

Fantastic interface FM synth

AIR OPx-4 is a really solid FM synthesiser with an easy-to-understand control layout, making it way more approachable than most FM synths. The sound engine is pretty deep and you can get everything from classic DX7-style bells to some really wild textures without getting lost in the interface.

Difficult to learn but capable of a lot

Like a lot of FM synths, there is deep programming capability that takes a lot of time to figure out. But it's easier than a DX7, and there are a lot of great presets as starting points. It's easier to work with the desktop version if you're doing sound design, but the MPC interface is very good as well. Tons of fun if you spend some time with it.
