Z-Yarn is similar to Betts Standard Z-Lon from Metz, but with a little more crinkle in the fibers, less sheen and much less expensive. It is great for spinner wings, sparkle dun shucks, caddis emerger cases and tails.

Winging it
I've been trying this out for wings on various patterns and it seems to work pretty well. Easy to tie in and stands up to lots of fish bites.
