Easy to use. I sprayed the inside of my hat first to make sure it wouldn't alter the look of the hat. The next day I sprayed the ourside and left it to dry. I'm not sure how good the waterproofing is, because it wasn't raining when we were out, but hopefully it'll stop the rain damaging the hat.
