Missing a Rear Site?

I really enjoyed using a mirror type orienteering compass for the first time at an organized event. The difference between this and a base plate design was notable. I did fumble with the lanyard where it was too short to use around my neck and hold out in front of me for a sighting. But those comments don’t speak to this particular model. The one design hang-up was the “rear site”, if you will, that I used when sighting a bearing. The red lanyard slides left to right in its slot and either causes me to misalign or vary my sighting. A hard proper rear site would be nice. Otherwise the compass was good quality and otherwise smartly made.
