Cacao-Fruit Gâteau Basque

Did not lije the Cacao-Fruit Gateau Basque very bland and the fruit tasted like Canned apple oie filling. Very disappointing. That said the original Chocolate Gateau Basque was amazing and if you heat it a little bit it goes to amazing either plain or with some cream topping. Yum

Sadly this one was a miss for us. It tasted line a dense buttery shell with an overly sweet runny sauce filling and a dense custard that was the texture of overbaked cheesecake. The entire thing was overpowered by the runny super sweet cacao sauce.

This was a special birthday gift. The recipient was thrilled with the gift box and the cake was delicious.
