Painful, but pretty and functional.

Drilling the holes, getting every lined up, will make you hate life...then eventually it's done and you have a nice looking half cage you're glad you won't need to touch again.

I recently installed the CMS Performance Roll Bar on my S550 Mustang, and overall I’m extremely impressed with the quality and fitment. Right out of the box, the construction is solid—welds are clean, the finish is excellent, and everything feels purpose-built rather than generic. Fitment was spot on. It follows the interior lines of the car really well, which is important if you still want a clean, street-friendly look. It doesn’t feel intrusive, but at the same time, it gives you that added confidence and safety you’re looking for—especially if the car sees any track time. Installation was straightforward with basic tools, though I’d recommend taking your time to get everything aligned perfectly. Once installed, it feels extremely rigid and well-mounted—no rattles, no movement. What really stands out is the balance: it adds serious safety and a motorsport feel without completely sacrificing comfort or usability. It still works well in a dual-purpose street/track setup. Overall, I’d highly recommend the CMS roll bar to anyone looking to upgrade safety in their S550 without compromising the interior too much. Great Customer Experience

The cage finish looks great and the powder coat color was spot on. The instructions were good enough to get it installed without much trouble. Fitment was decent overall, although something seemed slightly off during installation, but it wasn’t a major issue. Before purchasing, I spoke with a couple people from CMS on the phone and they were pleasant, informative, and patient in answering my questions, which I appreciated. Overall I’m very happy with the purchase and the quality of the cage. I also appreciate the NASA member discount. I’m a NASA instructor and spend a lot of time at the track, so people will definitely ask what cage I have.
