Very basic old lady smell, not too offensive, but nothing special. Flowery smell, but would not purchase again.

Oh my goodness. I cannot rave about this fragrance enough! The Duchess is so elegant—a seamlessly balanced and multi-layered fragrance that starts out beautifully, richly floral, and then it gradually deepens into the most delicate powdery scent that lingers to be smelled by only those who are privileged to get close enough. It really does harken back to the legendary sophistication and beauty of legends like Grace and Audrey, and nods to modern beauty like Kate as well. If you’re looking to add an absolutely gorgeous and fully mature lady’s fragrance to your collection, the Duchess is for you. (And I can’t fail to mention how much I love the ingredients—organic oils that don’t give me a headache or mess with my and my family’s endocrine systems? Yes PLEASE. ) I truly can’t wait to try more of Carter and Jane’s fragrances!

I am happy to say that I really like this fragrance! It is subtly floral with other notes included. Sometimes natural perfumes can smell very herbal but this fragrance is very nice! I'm so happy to see Palmarosa Pear again!
