The hardware is nice, but the software is a big let-down

This device is very straightforward to set up, not terribly intrusive, and not too uncomfortable. The hardware seems solid and well made, though it eats batteries fairly quickly. I can't say for certain that it is accurate, but it definitely picks up brain changes: with practice, I can make things happen in a couple of the apps just by getting into the right mental state. Unfortunately, of the 100+ apps that are claimed to be available, only a few work with this model using my modern Mac or iPad/iPhone, and they are not exactly great, all suffering from one or more of elderly, non-standard interfaces, terrible interaction design, or flaky, unreliable execution. I was drawn to it by what seemed to be lots of apps but, for any given platform with this particular iteration of the device, I have so far only found 3 that more or less work fairly consistently. I am tempted to try to write one of my own but I'm certainly no better at building software than the developers of the existing apps and the incentive to write it is not strong. This cries out for a better ecosystem!

Connecting and Support

When it worked it worked well, but unfortunately that really only happened twice on my phone and once on my PC. Neurosky Support has not responded (Robotshop has been trying to help alert Neurosky). I’m on windows 10, 32 gig ram, Ryzen 7 1800x. I think this headset connected better circa 2015. If you can get connected, it’ll be a great product.
