Not user friendly

The hood is comfortable yet hard to reach the settings inside . If you wear glasses its hard to get positioned on your nose. I like my old speed glass much better. The optics are very clear though but thats only thing good.

Clarity beyond belief

I’m a pipeline welder just recently retired and after selling all of my equipment “truck, machines, grinders/tools etc….I decided to purchase this shield along with my Brand new welder to be used for small projects around my property. In the past all I used was the sugar scoop or mostly pancake style shields. This Optrel welding shield made such an amazing impression on me when I first struck an arc, I couldn’t believe the clarity and visibility my eyes were seeing…only downside would be that if you have a fairly large Mellon such as me, you may feeel that the supplied isofit headgear does not fit far enough down on your head.

Most versatile helmet!!

As a welding instructor, I am constantly switching between stick, MIG, TIG, FCAW-G, FCAW-S, plasma, oxy....... whatever. This helmet's automatic feature is outstanding!!! I don't need to change my shade settings between every process. The helmet just changes the shade on the fly. As I'm performing a TIG weld on pipe, the helmet adjusts the shade automatically as my arc gets further away. This enables me to constantly see the weld pool no matter the angle my head is in relation with the arc. Couldn't recommend this helmet enough. Cry once, buy once.
