I just replaced the stock Gibson P90’s in my 2022 Les Paul Special with a set of these and they sound absolutely awesome! P90’s are my favorite pickups but they are also the noisiest. So years ago I started replacing them with noiseless ones. I’ve previously had the Fralin hum-cancelling and the Mojotone Quiet Coil and these Brickhouse Hum-Cancelling P90’s sound better in my opinion. They have the absolute perfect balance of fullness and bite that P90’s are known for. And the icing on the cake… no hum!

Although I have only just received my pickups after a postal assessment delay (nothing to do with Brickhouse) and haven’t had a chance to install them, I wanted to give a review of my experience while I am able. My conversation with David on P90 pickups for my 2004 PRS SE Singlecut Soapbar led me to the purchase of the BH90S set. I didn’t need silent, but just a reduction in noise to make my P90 guitar more usable in different situations with a healthy dose of dynamic range. The pickups arrived beautifully packaged, with a heft and quality design that tells me they aren’t simply made, they are crafted. Add top notch customer service and expertise from David and you can see why I have a new favorite pickup company in Brickhouse Toneworks.

Another outstanding pickup!

I had a set of these soapbar P90’s installed in my Epiphone P90 LP yesterday. The stock pickups sounded great (or so I thought) and weren’t terribly noisy. However they did get a little muddy with gain. Having already had a set of Brickhouse Mason Deluxe PAF’s installed in one of my guitars and one of their dog ear P90’s in another, I decided to give these a shot. Oh my goodness! These sound great! They clean up beautifully when you roll down the volume and they handle gain with aplomb. No muddiness here. Just P90 greatness! They aren’t entirely noiseless in my setup but they are pretty darn quiet. And what little noise there is can be easily silenced with the noise filter on my multi effects pedalboard. I have a set of Brickhouse 1960 PAFs and a set of the noiseless humbucker sized P90’s to install yet, and I have no doubt they will be fantastic, too. David’s service is top notch as well! I highly recommend Brickhouse Toneworks products!
