Excellent, as Victoria Goddardās work always is.
Very subtle in the references to Yshtar.
I have to say, though, that being from Texas, it doesnāt incline me to visit the northern parts of this continent except maybe in the middle of July. (I strongly suggest that perhaps people may not want to visit here from May through September.)
Thank you for a wonderful read.

I have read every book by Victoria Goddard at least twice, and I was so excited when In Lonely Lands came out. It is a great novella and Victoriaās writing is so incredible. Thank you, Victoria!

A beautiful story about restarting life after depression and as someone who has been there I really relate to it.
In true Goddard style it is also a poetic story about the magic only rarely glimpsed in our world, Yshtar in her universe.
It is also a short story, so a small slice of life, which makes me long for a bigger Victoria Goddard story, be it a novella or (eagerly awaiting) the next Greenwing & Dart adventure.
