Excellent Program
We are only 3 weeks into this program, but I couldn’t wait to review it. I’m using this with an 8 year old boy. He enjoys most of the components of it. We rotate between him writing answers and his dictating while I write the answers. He does like the stickers. I like how the ELA is gently worked into the each day. Giving him little doses. The math part is simple, so we added a math program to his day. He has enjoyed learning about the body but really can’t wait to get to the next section. My only complaint is- in the little experiment book that is done on Friday, I would have liked to see a few more explanations. Example- we just did an experiment about big muscles vs small muscles and which gets tired first. But it didn’t say which ‘did’ get tired first. Was his prediction correct? My son likes to know the why behind the stuff. Overall, I’m glad we invested in the program and I see us sticking with it for the long haul.

Worth it.
This has been a great curriculum for us so far. We are 2.5 weeks in. The science is taught simply and thoroughly. The language arts has been useful. The math is very little (once per week), but it's a nice extra like the coloring pages. My son enjoys the activities, like building a hand puppet. He loves using stickers and looks forward to building with the tangrams at the end of the week. I have not used the discovery journal. The Bible component is very low, but the general Christian worldview is there and occasionally Bible verses. If you are considering this curriculum, I would recommend viewing it as covering science, a light daily dose of language arts, and plenty of art. Includes a little: Bible, math, and exercise. (There may be history in later lessons.) My kid is at the end of 2nd grade. The science and art would work fine for 3rd grade. The language arts and math could be too easy for some 3rd graders.

Love this curriculum
I am so glad that I didn’t wait for reviews on this one! I love it, and my son can’t wait to start. I’m thinking we might start this summer actually! My first impression is that it is engaging, informative, and easy to implement. My son is going into first not second, but animals are not really his thing, and I knew that this would be a perfect fit. It doesn’t seem like it will be too challenging, but I can see us going at a bit slower pace anyway.
