The Fourth of July razor is my first purchase from Oliworks and I have to say it hits the mark in many ways! It is a beautiful well crafted razor! I love USA made things and your personal story. I have tried all three plates with at least 3 different blades (Wizamet, Nacet, Feather). I have been steeped in this wonderful classic wet shaving world for many years now and havent quite satisfied my RAD yet! Just a few things about my profile so you may gather as much info as possible. I have fairly course, thick facial hair. I have struggled to find razors that can give me a close comfortable BBS. My razors include: RR Lupo.75 and wunderbar, Karve CB brass most plates up to G, Blackland Blackbird SS ( all plates), ERA (plates 4 -5 OC and SB) and Dart, Maggard Slant and SB aggressive, Rockwell 6C, and a few others. I have grown to enjoy more efficient blade forward razors. This razor has great blade clamping; better than my BBird ( and current fav). Level 1 is too mild; no blade feel. Probably won’t use it much if at all. Level 2 is moderately efficient and very smooth, minimal blade feel. Could use it forever every day. Level 3 is a little more blade feel and more efficient than level 2. Very smooth! It is not quite as efficient as my Bird but could definitely be used as a daily driver with any blade! I prefer my Wizamets. I love the cerakote design and attention to detail! The only other critique I have ( which others have noted) is that I wish the threading was better. It is the only cheap feeling aspect of this razor! I hope you release one slightly more aggressive plate. It might just be perfect! Congrats on your entry into the wet shaving world and I hope this review helps! God Bless! John
