I have been eyeing the previous version for a long time and I'm glad I finally purchased! It's a really good size with inside pockets helping to keep it organized. I love a hobo shape but always hate digging around the bottom of the bag for things and this design truly solves that! Plus the key leash is stretchy and the outside pocket for phone is convenient! The modular strap system truly is easy to work with and the strap is thin enough to fit comfortably in the bag. I was able to go with the short handbag mode for a funeral and then pop on the crossbody strap for the graveside service. The leather is super soft, and at first I was shocked by how thin it felt since I'm used to cow leather, but as I've used it I'm actually very impressed with the quality. This is the bag I've been looking for and I'm so glad for it!

A nearly perfect travel companion

I’ve carried a lot of bags over the years, and the Aoyama has quickly become one of my favorites. The leather is incredibly soft and feels much more luxurious than the price suggests. What really sets it apart is how versatile it is—I used it throughout a European vacation where it seamlessly transitioned from daytime sightseeing to evening dinners without ever looking out of place. It’s deceptively roomy. I can fit all of my daily essentials while keeping everything organized, and it remains comfortable to carry even after hours of walking. The convertible design is thoughtfully executed, allowing me to switch how I carry it depending on the situation. The craftsmanship is excellent, with quality hardware and beautiful attention to detail. It strikes that sweet spot between stylish and practical, which is surprisingly hard to find in a travel bag. If I could change one thing, I’d love to see a slightly wider opening to make it just a bit easier to access items at the bottom, but that’s a very minor complaint. If you’re looking for a bag that can handle travel, sightseeing, dinners, and everyday use while looking polished the entire time, I highly recommend the Aoyama. It’s one of those purchases that has exceeded my expectations and has earned a permanent spot in my travel rotation.
