pilling and shedding terribly

I bought this sweater in three colors I loved it that much. the pink and the blue sweater have held up nicely and the quality is great. The black sweater upon the first wear started to pill and shed terribly. It looks awful. I emailed customer service and no reply. Maybe I just got a dud.
