Great Starter Fountain Pen

I ordered my first ever fountain pen from Bertram's Inkwell. The TWSBI Eco is a great beginner pen that's easy to use. It's an aesthetically pleasing and affordable option. The piston filling mechanism makes it really approachable once you get the hang of it. My only 2 comments on it are the EF nib is still thicker than a 0.5 nib (e.g. on a Muji pen). I was aware of this when purchasing so it's not a shock to me but heads up for anyone else. I also have no issues writing with the pen on most surfaces but have had issues with a 120 g/m² creme paper. Even when holding the pen correctly it sometimes will not flow for every letter but this may be beginner user error. Bert is super pleasant to communicate with and cares about his customers and products. Emailing may not always get a response but he is quick to pick up the phone! My only piece of feedback for the user experience is that the website does not inform you of whether a pen is in stock, backordered, or out of stock. When I ordered the TWSBI it was backordered but was given no indication or communication about this. So I waited a while before having to call to ask about my order status. Transparency about these things would be appreciated in the future!
