89Sabers Obi Wan EP1 Neopixel Saber

Accurate design but not impressive

This is my first Proffie-equipped saber. I had high hopes for it, but it fell short from what I anticipated. Design The hilt is very accurate representation of Obi-Wan's saber from The Phantom Menace, which is one of my favorite saber designs. I have both the Master Replicas Elite and EFX Collectibles series saber hilts, and this one is pretty close in details and dimensions. Impressive! It feels good in the hands, as well as comfortable. But it has some flaws: the activation and auxiliary buttons are loose and make little "jiggly" sounds when you touch them; they are not as solid as I thought they would be. Performance The activation switch does not always activate the saber either; I have to rely on the twist activation and deactivation system. Lighting This, of course, all depends on the blade itself. The stock blade is adequate, but still lacking in brightness to others I have. Once I swapped it out, it wasn't an issue anymore. Sound/Speaker This is where the saber really disappoints. The speaker is too soft, low in volume (even after adjusting the volume setting). Perhaps this is due to the speaker muffled from the pommel design (no holes?). The Proffie board also does not impress as stock. I realize these are customizable, but I am not here to discuss that. My impression is also, perhaps, unfair because I have a number of Vader's Vault sabers that use the CFX sound board, coupled with their ridiculously loud speakers (which I absolutely LOVE!), make it difficult to keep an unbiased view. Overall Despite all the negativity, let me be clear: it is a very nice saber and fun to wield. For the price, you get a lot with the hard case and other accessories and, not to mention, the excellently designed hilt. Would I buy it again? I can't say for sure, but probably.
