I’m an electrician and for measurements of 30” or less I prefer to use an inside folding rule rather than a tape measure. I have bought several of these and given them to coworkers. They work great, especially for conduit bending. The fact that they have inches on one side and metric units on the other side is a plus. I love how they are small, not bulky and fit in my shirt pocket for easy access is icing on the cake!

The way it should be.

Just a folding ruler, with good flexibility (to keep it from fracturing in use or when accidentally mis-handled), clearly marked graduations, and inside reading, as is typically best for these things. The pivots and springs are great.

Marks and numbers wear off too soon.

I really like these a lot! I carry one every day. The only problem is that the writing and hash marks wear off pretty quickly when handled with dirty hands. It's mainly the first 30cm, as that is the part I use most often. I'm on my third in a little over a year, just due to the marks and numbers wearing off. All else is great with them. They are super flexible to where I can use to measure and copy radiuses easily. Much better for plumbing than a small tape or wooden folding rule. I will continue to use, but hope the product markings will be made more durable in the future.
