John East J-Tone 2 Band Bass Preamp
I have purchased hundreds of pickups and bass preamps from Fat Bass tone throughout the years. Max always steps up and delivers. Anytime time I need professional advice regarding my current bass build or diagram wiring Max's advice is always helpful and spot-on. Bravo to Fat Bass Tone!

Asome Preamp
First of all, bass sounds completely different even with cheap pickups. I will eventually upgrade the pickups. Buy it you will not regret it.

East J-Tone 2 Band Pre
There is no better drop-in pre for a Fender J. Flexible eq points for bass and treble? Yes! Amazing! Deep and wide to punchy low end, lower treble to super sweet upper treble snappy top end. No soldering? Yes! Amazing! What is typically "missing" in a passive J bass (extension in the depth and upper frequencies) is here, and all with a passive tone control that works in active and passive mode. Can be ordered with master volume and pickup pan, or two volumes and tone control (as a standard J bass - best layout for tone flexibility). Comes with extra capacitors which can be simply "plugged in". The standard cap installed, (in my opinion) is perfect, when rolled off, it is beautifully dark and furry yet clear as a velvet covered bell. A better, more flexible (as well as simple drop in/no solder) 2 band pre simply doesn't exist (nor need it exist).
