Speak Up! Button

Pressing her first word independently took *nine* months--but our time was well-spent: full of enrichment, bonding activities and fun (my older learner loved those months of learning sessions, lots of purring and excitement). Now, less than two months after her first independent press, G has 28 buttons and wants more, and our relationship has evolved in unexpected and amazing ways. I can't imagine our lives without words.

I first presented the ONE button I bought on May 9th. To be honest, I wasn’t sure that my newly adopted, two year old shelter dog would be able to learn to use buttons. Today she pressed the button all on her own. It is her first press, only 12 days of modeling the button press/go outside action. I’m so thrilled that she CAN do this and someday she’ll be able to tell me exactly what she needs, and I can respond in a more timely manner. Thanks FluentPet, Bunny, and Ms. Devine! We’re off and running!

The buttons have been pretty good so far and I have purchased them multiple times. My only complaint is with the batteries as I have had a few die a month or so after I purchased the buttons. My cats find the buttons easy to press now and I like that they fit snugly into the hextiles.
