The Piper at the Gates of Dawn
A towering forest, dappled by late afternoon sunlight.. fresh soil, lush greenery, fireflies dancing at dusk.. you followed a song deep into the forest, and what you find is breathtakingly beautiful.
I thought I didn’t like green scents until I tried Cemetery Moss and fell in love, which made this one an easy purchase, and it’s gorgeous. Where that one is dark and solemn, this is brighter, more hopeful, well suited to the long days of summer. It’s earthy, herbal and deep green, the balsam is prominent, as is the patchouli. It carries a shining brightness though, lifted by the citrus notes, a slash of gold light cutting through the dark trees. No one note overpowers another, they dance beautifully through each other, carrying an almost primal feeling. I cannot help but be reminded of a chapter in a childhood favorite book, which lends a touch of summertime nostalgia. Another absolute stunner.

Lovely
This oil transports me back to childhood when we used to spend summers at our cottage on a little-known lake, surrounded by wilderness in the Adirondacks. If I close my eyes and sniff, I’m right back there, in those long-ago summers. It’s earthy but light. Perfect patchouli blend for summer.
