RHUBARB THIEF DISCOVERY SET

If this set were a music album, it would be ‘Seventh Tree’ by Goldfrapp. Sultry, smokey, conceptual folk art but modern. Specifically the song “Cologne Cerrone Houdini” or “Clowns.” As a man, I was skeptical of finding a scent from the main products. But was so intrigued by the marketing and concept art that went behind this, so got it for the little story and gorgeous packing as a collectors item. Honestly tho, Beekeeper and Fourteen Carrots are absolutely DIVINE and took me by surprise. Beekeeper is like a smokey, honey, papyrus scent. Works really well for men. Reminds me of late September on a colonial New England farm. Fourteen Carrots reminds me of a wet spring day. Like you’re making carrot cake from scratch. None of these scents are cloying or sweet though. Perfectly balanced. I will definitely get a full bottle of these two!

This set is a pure delight. I was looking forward to everything from the box design to the storyline, presenting this collection. Each scent is beautiful and indulgent. Earthy and sophisticated, I can’t decide which one I like most!

Nice scent story, staying power may vary

This is my second time purchasing a set from Heretic. I do really like the creative direction and presentation of their scents. The main drawback I've experienced from what I have tried this far is that some scents have almost no lasting power on me. I like the bright, tart rhubarb scent and the waxy beeswax scent that reminds me of an old apothecary. . . but the other 3 I was not as impressed with. Dirty Jasmine leans more towards a sweet almost banana like Jasmine smell, which I personally did not care for. Dirty Hinoki is a beautiful fragrance, although not as cedar-y and earthy as other Hinoki scents I have. . . again the scent has almost no lasting power and even after multiple spritzes I cannot smell it once I leave the house. The packaging and experience of opening a box from Hereric always impresses me. I will continue to explore their fragrances because the price is fair and the scent stories are always interesting.
