10" x 35" Big Foot Sluice with Mini Mat

This is my Father’s Day present to myself from myself, and I couldn’t be any more excited. I’ve only been prospecting since October of last year, and like most people I started with a cheap sluice box . It worked fine, but it wasn’t a dream mat. I’ve used this Bigfoot sluice with the dream at twice now at Cajon Creek and it is blowing my mind. I’m taking it to the east Fork of the San Gabriel river on Saturday. I absolutely love it. Also, this is my third order from High Plains prospector and they are just amazing.

First, High Plains Prospectors are a dream to work with. Second, this was my first big-boy sluice purchase, and while testing it out in 'the lab' using the mini-mat I picked up some gold flakes in the tailings I was using for testing. I tried several different pitch and water flow rates and recovered the same bits of gold each time, so it seems very forgiving, and very effective. I haven't used it in the river yet as it's still a bit cold up north here. But I have no doubt it will prove quite durable. It is very nicely constructed.
