Perfect Vest for Warmer Days and Training Dogs

The SideKick is the perfect vest for warmer days in the field and working dogs. It’s lightweight, comfortable, and gives me enough storage for the essentials without feeling bulky or weighed down. I especially love it for dog training sessions when I want quick access to everything I need without wearing a full hunting vest. Definitely one of my go-to pieces of gear!

I wore my sidekick vest the first time opening dove season this week. Very comfortable and is everything Matt Davis says it is. I will be using it this fall on quail hunts I have coming up. Very well made and top quality.

I started with the sidekick thinking I could make it my do all vest. And then I let my kid wear it a few times. So now we added the XT bag to this system, and have another XT as well. They are remarkably comfortable after you play around with adjusting it. We have dove season coming up Sept 1, and it will be my go to for that season. Then I’ll likely switch it out to the XT for bigger birds. I haven’t put it on any mile plus adventures yet - but there coming. I have worn plenty of the older traditional style vests and they get real uncomfortable if you’re successful. I did both setups in the non blaze orange so they can be used year round. I’ll cover my orange requirements with a had and shirt/jacket. I elk hunt in the mountains so I’m very familiar with good backpacks and how they ride - this feels just like them but obviously way lighter and less bulky. Perfect minimalist option. Appreciate the attention to detail. Great product that I’ll likely never need to replace - and I’m planning on 30+ more years.
