A little goes a long way so it is exactly as directed and described.

Does make a difference. I tried with and without. You only need 3 drops so this bottle will last hundreds of washes unless you need to replace the water after every wash. But if your records are that dirty, clean them first. Expensive but you can visually tell the difference between using it and not.
