Formula S540p ROCKS!

I've been considering a formula bandsaw for some time and finally decided to purchase the S440 on sale. Just my luck, the s440p sold out, so I decided to get the S540P instead. I think overall the S540p hits the sweet spot, not too large for the home shop, plus with a 21" resaw capacity, plenty of power with room to grow. Purchasing from Oak Tree has been a pleasure. Logan is very knowledgeable and responsive, answering every question I threw at him. Delivery was fast, simple, and straightforward without incidents. Overall, super happy with my purchase at Oak Tree, this bandsaw ROCKS!

Overall, I give it a 4.5 If I owned the company, I would make the following modifications: Make the upper and lower doors swing independently of each other Move the table to the right 6” - and offer table extension s Add a window to view the blade on the wheel Delete the plastic window at the cutting surface - the plastic is reflective so you can’t see the blade/cut line. Offer casters as an option. The saw has plenty of power - in the two weeks I’ve had it I have used a 1/4” blade to cut 2” thick walnut very curvey table legs and 1” blade to resaw 8” walnut. Did both with zero sign of strain. Main dislike is that the blade will pull forward when backing slowly and carefully out of a cut. It’s very sensitive to this. Twice the blade has come off the fly-wheels. I need SCM to help with this. My entry level Jet bandsaw never did it. It’s scary. Other than the dislike above, I’m very happy with the saw.

Saw and carbide blade are performing as expected. Would be helpful to have a blade tension gauge, though the tension scale on saw seems adequate.
