Easy replacement - BE SURE to order the right cables (Ares V1 or V2)!
Due to misrouting, the sheathing on the lower cable was damaged. Rather than wait for it to get worse, I replaced it. PLEASE NOTE: At the time I purchased, the Ares 2.0 cables were not listed in "spares". The V1 and V2 versions are _not_ the same length. You can call to order them. The installation was straightforward; I need to remove a few pulleys and cable retainers , plus loosen one pulley. It was a 20 minute job and half that if you've done it once.

Best Value
In terms of value for your money it doesn’t get better than the Ares 1. 0. The machine looks and feels high end. I had some minor issues with it at the beginning but Rep’s customer support assisted me in identifying and resolving the issues. I highly recommend this product Consider getting the weight upgrade, the belt squat attachment, and a bench with a cable leg developer for a full body workout.

The Ares Gym That Tested My Patience and My Muscles
I bought the Aries setup from REP and—let me tell you—it’s an absolute beast. Built like a tank, smooth as butter, and makes me feel like I’m training inside a superhero’s lair. Once assembled, it’s a masterpiece. Getting there though… well, that was an adventure worthy of a Greek epic. Somewhere between REP’s warehouse and my driveway, a few of my weight plates apparently went on vacation. A couple of boxes even took a detour and ended up at someone else’s house (I hope they enjoyed the brief gains). But here’s where REP really flexed: their customer service team crushed it. Every missing and damaged piece was replaced without a single headache. Super friendly, super efficient — exactly what you hope for when a shipping company decides to spice up your order tracking. Assembly: long, but not bad. The manual was solid, and everything lined up beautifully. Just be warned — you’ll need tools that look like they came off a construction site. Those bolts are no joke. I’d love if REP offered an optional wrench/socket kit for these monsters because I’m pretty sure most people’s toolboxes don’t include “Thor-sized hardware. ” Now that it’s all put together though, this rig doesn’t flinch. It’s rock-solid, smooth, and built tougher than most of the people using it. Every time I train, I’m reminded this was one of the best investments I’ve made — in both fitness and stress management (thank you, shipping saga). Bottom line: REP builds amazing gear, stands behind it, and made me laugh through the chaos. If you’re on the fence — get it. Just maybe keep a torque wrench handy.
