Jack Attack
Over three days of high wind I caught 249 fish on Jacks. 15 to 40mph wind chased most anglers away because it was so hard to throw any bait. On the first day, I was about ready to quit around 10:00 because of the wind. Picked up a half oz Jack and went to work on the black bass and white bass (even caught a couple of walleyes). Next two days all I threw were Jacks. Bone, black and silver, black and gold, and shad color were the primary colors. The long cast and when to pause the bait on the retrieve were part of the ticket, but the jack was the critical piece of the puzzle. I modified most of the baits with a red hook on the front, this doubled the catch ratio. If they came from Berkley with red hooks, I would give them a 5 star
