Well thought out/made hay bag

Picture is of one of my beavers on his 1st day with the hay bag. I got 3 of them in blue and put them in the paddock for my 3 fence chewing/destroying horses. It has helped a lot. Getting toys to join the hay bags. My 3 get too fat in the summer and muzzles don't stay on and cause infections if they rub too much. So an over grazed paddock with these wonderful hay bags is what they got this summer. 2 of the little velcro attachment pieced broke, but that may be due to the fact that I wasn't undoing all the velcro to open the hay bag up all the way to put the hay in because it took too long to load and redo the velcro and then lace the string through the eyelet holes is what I call them like lacing up a shoe. I use round bales so I have to shove the hay in anyway so it doesn't really matter how big or small the hole is and actually having the velcro closed makes the hole small enough that when I pull my hand and arm back out that it doesn't come right back out. It's not too horrible to fill but would be way easier if it was just flakes of hay from a square bale. The one thing I didn't account for when putting these out in the field overnight is the wild animals peeing on the bags or whatever they do to make them smell. When the grass loses it's potency this fall, my horses will get their big field again and I will throw these hay bags in the wash, dry them in the Sun and put them away for next summer. These bags were definitely a good investment.

These hay bags are BIG and hold a lot of hay! I fill it in the AM and my draft cross is still munching on it 12 hours later. My only complaint is that they are a bit challenging to fill - it takes me about 10 mins to do 2 of them. The velcro on one of my bags already broke in one spot. The hay bags themselves seem very sturdy!

We use these feed bags in our barn. We have one for each horse and we love this product. The hay bags allow us to feed all the horses in an hour and the horses have hay for 24 hours. We even made a custom dolly to help us load the hay and quickly roll the bags to each stall. It really helps us get the job of feeding 18 horses done quickly.
