The Perfect All-Arounder...maybe

I had the Aurora and it was exceptional and I was surprised by it when originally purchased. I tried Legion and Aegis, and FlipEars has proven they regularly punch above their price point. The Arion might be the best price:performance they've produced to date. It's only been recently I've dipped my toe above the $3k price point on some IEMs, and although I've been incredibly impressed by all of them, at some point in the journey you realize there's a difference between being impressed, even "wowed", and truly enjoying the listening experience. I prefer Arion's tuning, bass lift, overall tonality, and technicalities as a package more than anything I've heard. I don't think it's a stretch to say if we were sitting here with the Arion just a year ago, it'd have to be priced around $3500. That's the listening experience and joy I get out of this IEM. Perfect? No, at least I don't think so. But that's the thing. It's such an enjoyable listen I either don't pay attention to things I'd normally nitpick, or I think they're so good I just blame it on the track. The cable is excellent in every single way. The Baroque tips (OG or stage) work beautifully with it. Yes, it's chunky, but FlipEars knows our ears aren't elongated like Thieaudio often thinks (Valhalla, lookin' at you), and it fit much better than Raven. As a last hat tip, though not sold here, I've owned the Hercules Moses, as well. I'd pick the Arion. I'll put it this way, you might pick the Moses on certain tracks, but the Arion would be the choice for the whole album.
