I have the Mountain Trainer but I wanted an everyday waterproof shoe. After a lot of looking and comparing I chose the Alp Trainer 2 GTX. This is only my second pair of Salewa shoes. I am a Crispi hunting boot person; however, the Attiva's for everyday wear were not comfortable and supportive like the Colorado's or Nevada's...too flat for my high arches. The Mountain Trainer I first tried has better support but a narrow toe box and they aren't waterproof. The Alp Trainer 2 GTX seems to be a really good fit. More room in the toe box, more arch support, more comfortable to wear everyday, true to size and mud nor water seeps in. I'm happy with this shoe and look forward to more time spent in them throughout the summer.
