Best L-Bracket for the Sony A7 IV

The L-bracket is well-built, well-designed, and not too heavy. It fits perfectly on my camera and I appreciate that the offset vertical component allows me to access the side ports easily and flip the screen out without interference. The bag it came with was a nice bonus as it allows me to store it without getting scratches on it. I also like how the hex wrench is stored underneath the bracket rather than on top. I just wish the scale printed on the vertical component accurately showed the center of the sensor for my A7 IV. The main reason I purchased the L-bracket is to take panoramas without parallax issues, but without an accurately-printed sensor plane indicator, this is hard to do. That being said, this is still probably the best L-bracket for the Sony A7 IV.

A7IV L bracket

This is by far the best L bracket I have used. The other brackets didn't work well because I couldn't access the ports on the left hand side of the camera. By shifting the vertical part of the L forward, all of the ports are readily usable. The only quibble is that the little attachment so you can use a conventional strap tied to battery compartment side (on the A7IV) blocks fully opening the battery compartment door. But I don't use that and I suspect you could bent the attachment slightly so it would likely work. As far as service goes, everything went smoothly. My one question was answered in 24 hours. First time I bought ProMedia Gear but I am sure it won't be my last.

Perfect L-Bracket

Promedia Gear have designed and produced a perfect L-bracket. I've used a number of different L-brackets on my Sony cameras, but this one is the best by far. It's unique offset design allows the camera's screen to fully articulate, and allows for unimpeded access to the port covers on the left-hand side of the camera when shooting in portrait mode using a remote shutter or other devices with cables. Other l-brackets I have used require the upright portion to be set some distance away from the camera to be able to plug cables into the camera's ports, which decreases stability when in portrait mode. It's also built like a tank! Another innovative product from PMG!
