Alex Velvet Dress - Black

Sewn incorrectly

I exchanged another style for this dress and while I liked the fit, the dress was sewn incorrectly. I ordered the velvet fabric and when received found that the top and bottom wear sewn together with the nap of the velvet going in two different directions. I ordered black the top looked like a shiny gray and the bottom black. Also, cautious when exchanging because Birdy Grey issues a gift card for you to complete an exchange they won’t issue me a refund in the original form of payment.

BEAUTIFUL dress, but FYI for my tall girlies

This dress is absolutely perfect and is the first bridesmaids dress in my closet that I will probably wear again. I am 5'11", about 145 lbs and got a size medium and the dress fits great. But fair warning for my fellow tall ladies, the dress is about .5-1 inch from hitting the floor when I am barefoot (similar look to the model in the picture w/ flats). The bottom hem is pretty slim, I would say about a half inch max can be taken out with alterations. I'm not worried about it, but if you are wanting it to fully graze the floor with heels then might be worth asking to have them add some extra length.

Most comfortable dress I’ve ever worn! Super functional and material feels great, stretchy, and breathable. I’m typically a XS or S . I ordered the XS and it’s perfect. I’d say it probably runs slightly big.
