Light Kit for LEGO® Lord of the Rings - Rivendell #10316

LOVED THE INSTALL, BUT NOT THE LIGHT COLOR

The 2.0 kit was easy to install and I did the install while you build option which was cool. Very nice instructions and was impressed with process overall. The part that I was not expecting was the color temperature of the lights used. In the photos and video the lights look like a much softer warmer color than what they actually are and give a more uniform look. In reality, a majority of the lights on the interior are a very cool, bright white which didn't really fit the overall aesthetic in my opinion and contrast with both interior and exterior lights. With the amount of candles and torches I feel like the color temperature should be warmer. One of the most noticeable areas is bilbos room where the desk area is a warm flicker light that immediately gets drowned out by a bright white light in the main bedroom. Overall, I am happy with the light kit but would be waaaay better looking with different color choices for the interior lights.

What a great set. The lighting placement is spot on. The after-build instructions we easy to follow. the piece went together easily. I highly recommend this set.

2.0 Is a major upgrade

2.0 is leaps and bounds better than the old sets. I did the Disney Castle with the old set and it took me a solid 8 hours to do. The older sets used tons of wires. With 2.0 the entire set was lit up with very few actual cables. The flat connectors are great, you don't feel like they will break when pushing them into the hubs. As for this specific light set, it's beautiful. It makes Rivendell look amazing and I am pleased. Looking forward to many other 2.0 light sets in my future.
