Carnage III SP Rid
Recently I've upgraded quite a bit of my gear. To date have had a mix/match of brand. In a desire to reload and gain consistency for both offshore and inshore days, I wanted to create an inventory that sequenced thru the intent and targeted species. I battled Shimano (excellent brand) versus Penn and decided to go with Penn simply based on the value proposition. Penn's higher end gear rivals' other brands at competitive price points. Slow Jigging is new for our crew, but the more we work it in the more effective we find it to be and more enjoyable/sustainable vs speed jigging. The Carnage line and specifically the new Slow Pitch series is definitely of high quality and perfect for this task. Build, esthetics, components, feel, and balance. I opted for the 250g with the Fathom 15XN. I might also consider the low profile 300/400 (to be ordered) for the 250g rod as its lower profile creates more stability when cranking harder depending on species and depth of water.

Carnage III, slow pitch rod
It helps me get a 200 gram pencil jig, all the way down to 1000 feet to fish where the 3 pound yelloweyes, and queen snapper live. We fish in Honduras and you can see the mountains from where we catch all of the fish
