Description
An exact hardware replica of the Mutable Instruments Ears, which is based on the Music Thing Modular's Mikrophonie.
The ridges on the panel are less defined than on the Mutable version, so the texture is a bit more subtle.

I've just started my hardware system, and this and a USB interface are the only modules I have so far… but introducing this to my softsynth workflow has really introduced some possibilities. The sound from this does amazing things when passed into a comb filter or a resonator like the Rings clone I have in VCV Rack (or After Later Audio Resonate, presumably). The gate signal allows me to set off various events when I strike the mic sharply enough, so they coincide nicely with the peaks of the mic audio. Plays nicely with a guitar pick. The description said the ridges are less pronounced than the original Mutable Instruments Ears, but they're prominent enough to allow me to make some plucking sounds with the pick, and the less prominent ones allow subtler scraping/rubbing sounds. It looks really good, too, and the clipping / envelope / gate indicator LEDs have a beautiful, soft red and green glow. Just an absolute pleasure to use all around.

Amazing build quality and a clone I was looking forward to for a long time. Thanks, ALA. You’re the best!
