Not As Advertised

This microscope is advertised as having a 5MP camera. It does not. The integrated camera is only 3MP. As a result, the unit was incompatible with the proprietary software and therefore could not be recognized by any computer. The box is labeled as 5MP camera, but the unit itself says 3MP and is recognized by my laptop as a 3MP camera. My computer was able to acknowledge that a device was plugged in, but the proprietary software would not recognize any device. I tried downloading the software on 3 different laptops- both windows and mac- and the software was incompatible each time. Basically, this makes the digital component completely useless. It was still a functional manual stereo microscope, but completely unable to take pictures of any kind. Customer service was not helpful, was dishonest, and did not resolve the issue. Fortunately I was able to return the unit.
