Large Rink

Oh what fun it is to skate!

First timer for an ODR. Definitely more to manage than I anticipated, yet the fun is worth the effort! The YardRink was very easy to put together, but it took longer than expected with all the zip ties, etc. We added metal posts and a larger net on each side to prevent broken posts and stray pucks (hosting U13 players). We've had a lot of snow so far, and I'm definitely seeing the benefit of having the liner outside of the boards. Hoping the temps cooperate and we get more cold than snow! Thanks for the lasting memories, Yard Rink!!

Only regret is we didn't buy it sooner!

We just got our rink and used it for the first time yesterday. Our youngest just turned 4 and before we got the rink, he couldn't skate or stand on his skates on the ice. He finally stood yesterday and today he skated forward AND backward. No kidding! I also saw him stand up after falling, which he just did for the first time yesterday. Kids went out to skate before church. Before breakfast even! The best part was the confidence this rink helped instill in our children! The kids that refused to go on the ice at practice last week and said he was never going to skate again told me this morning, "I love hockey! I want to skate all the time!". He's also certain that he skates better than his coaches. (This is the 4 year old that just started. ) 🤣
