PILOT Custom 74 Fountain Pen - Black

The Custom 74 is a seriously good pen

I bought this pen mainly for the nib, a soft fine medium. This is a very nice nib. Very smooth, not overly wet, and good for long writing sessions. This is not a nib you will regret buying. The pen fits nicely in my hand (I have medium sized hands) and it was comfortable for 20 to 30 minutes of writing. I'm very pleased with this purchase.

Worth it

Music nib has some character and needs to understand how to manipulate it. I did have some trouble shoot at first but then it was really a pleasure to write with it. Also a must have if you're in to broader nibs.

beautiful writer

I got the Pilot Custom 74 in black, with the FM nib. the pen arrived in a plastic box with the pen and a single cartridge inside. It is twist to uncap, and it takes about 1 and half turns to uncap the pen and reveal a beautiful small-ish 14k gold nib, and a short and comfortable section. The nib writes beautifully, it's is softer than a steel nib, but not flexible, writing with it feels like you have "suspension" and there isn't much line variation unless you push it intentionally. The weight and size of the pen with the nib makes a very balanced and comfortable writing experience. the Pilot #5 nib is somewhat comparable to western #5 nibs by size, and I do prefer the larger #6 nib. I also want to thank the PenSachi team, I requested that the do a nib test for me just to make sure that the pen performs well and the nib has no problems, and they accommodated my request. I do plan on purchasing more pens from them and maybe visit their store in person if I ever have the chance. どうもありがとうございました
