Is it really Morocco without the Souks?
After being a devoted fan of the Souks of Morocco - using it as my go-to / daily scent and getting regular compliments, I was a bit disappointed with this new iteration of just "Morocco." Some might not notice the differences, but the differences - even if they may be subtle - are there. This new version opens with a more powdery top note with just a little too sweet....something (the honey maybe?) mixed in. There's also a very noticeable scent of isopropyl at first. It does eventually settle to something closer to the original, but it's still not the same. The longevity/staying power has also suffered with this formulation. I'd been buying Souks since it was launched, but i definitely don't think I'll be buying this one once I'm through it (should've bought the smaller bottle.) What initially hooked me as a long time customer of Hemingway Accoutrements/Barberry Coast was the unique but amazing scents they offered at competitive price. Lately though they seem to be following the late stage capitalist play book, offering declining quality and cookie cutter products (stop trying to imitate, which y'all definitely seem to be doing) at higher pricing. Following that trend - why wouldn't one just default back to designer scents?

Fantastic, again…
I’d worn an other absolutely fantastic scent by an other company almost daily, for many years. When I tried the original Signature version that became Barberry’s Finca Vigia, I found the scent to beat all scents. Then I decided to take a shot with Souks of Morocco. Dang…now I’m hooked on both. Thank you for both. Never discontinue them. At least in my lifetime. Please.
