The vintage-inspired Deck Jacket is made from a specially developed reproduction Jungle Cloth, a lightweight cotton fabric that’s both soft to the touch and water repellent. Based on the classic Naval N-1 deck jackets, this modern take from RRL comes with a cotton sateen front body lining, making it easy to layer and light enough to wear

Definitely a pretty penny, part of the pricetag is very much partly for the RRL brand name factor rather than being strictly translated to the quality. Not a knock against the quality itself either -- it's very well-made and is a beautiful item, doesn't feel cheap or like any corners were cut, just that there are more durable deck jackets out there you can pick up for the same price or less with more bang for your buck -- Heat Straps, Pike Brothers, The Real McCoy's, to name a few.
That being said...I don't regret picking it up, not one bit. I feel like I want to and can wear it every day. It's comfortable and somehow so warm without ever running hot, and the fit on the medium was perfect for me (6'1 / ~170 lbs). I can layer if I want, but honestly, I often just run it over a t-shirt, and it's perfect.
Again, the price of entry is pretty steep, but I personally had to pick it up at the end of the day. I admittedly make a lot of purchases that I end up retroactively questioning in hindsight, but not a single part of me doubts this one. Don't be afraid to be afraid.

The jacket is exactly what I wanted! I Iove the little details like the historically accurate 1940s YKK zipper. The price is high like all RRL pieces but it hence the 4 stars but it was worth it to me.
