I've been looking for tea education like this!
So beautifully produced and the learning journey is well-designed to support integration. I love the way this course does not cut corners on depth and reckoning with humanity's past. My appreciate for tea grows deeper.

Simply Revolutionary
The Roots of tea course is simply revolutionary. It has changed the way I look at tea and tea culture and introduced a new way of life through tea. It deals with tea as a living thing that can change your life. The idea of Living tea is simple and seems quite natural. Rui's guidance through the weekly meetups is a blessing. I've come to cherish those meetings as part of my weekly life. The reverence shown in the course and through Rui's guidance towards Tea and the natural order of things and the wisdom of the ancestors is infectious. This course has been simply life changing for me. Thank you Rui, the tea masters and their ancestors and most of all to the Tea plant for everything.

Embracing Simplicity and Tranquility
Whether you are a newcomer to Grass People Tree or are a long time companion, the Roots of Tea course is for you. Before you even begin learning the history or practice of tea, there is the undeniable benefit of simply sitting in presence with tea and Rui. As you listen to her speak, you may find yourself laughing or even crying at times, her warmth and reverence for the wisdom she is sharing with us is soothing and heartfelt throughout the entirety of the course. In the learning of the history of Chinese tea we are released from the binds of illusion placed upon us over centuries past. And the importance of understanding the difference between cultural appropriation versus appreciation may begin to take root, if it hasn't already. For myself, the greatest benefit I received from the course came in the experience of implementing the practice of returning to the root, or returning to the source. Through this practice I felt and experienced the harmony between people and plant going all the way back to the first time people and tea came together, and then like roots, spreading out to all those between then and this moment now. With each brew, we connect to that source, to those roots of all those that came before, those here now, and those yet to emerge into this immortal now. Rui once told me there is nothing to learn. I think she has it just right. There is nothing to learn, there is only remembering. And I've found, at the heart of the Roots of Tea, is a remembrance of how to simply be.
