The perfect case! (for me)
This is actually my second Caudabe case I’ve purchased for my iPhone 17 Pro Max, the first being the very high quality Sheath case!
So if I already owned a case, why buy another?
While I loved the premium quality of the Sheath, I found that over extended use my hands would get quite fatigued with it on, and made an already large phone, well, larger! (More-so wider than anything)
Now don’t get me wrong, the Sheath is one of, if not the best case on the market and while yes, it does add thickness to the phone, it’s totally worth trying out for yourself!
That said, at one point I removed my Sheath case and thought “man, I really love how this phone feels without a case!”, and “if only I could keep my phone this light and still have some protection!”.
Then I remembered, “hey, Caudable has a thin style case!”, and that’s where the Veil comes in!
I used my points from my previous purchase to help with paying for the Veil, and as soon as I put it on my phone I knew I made the right choice in getting it!
It offers just the right amount of protection while keeping bulk to the absolute minimum, and adds a nice subtle matte texture that feels pleasant to the touch, and also has raised texturing in strategic spots on the sides of the case to add extra grip while still maintaining subtle elegance.
While I do miss the magsafe magnet from the Sheath case, this case is thin enough to where I can still use my phone mount in my car without fear of it flying off when driving over bumps, but you mileage may vary depending on how strong the magnet on your mount is.
My only nitpick is that I do wish there was the option to choose the precise or cutout camera coverage like the Sheath case, but I imagine that would add more bulk, which would defeat the purpose of this case. The raised edge around the cameras does what it’s supposed to and keeps the cameras safe from rubbing against tables and the like, however the open design allows pocket lint to gather around the cameras. Not a big deal and nothing a wipe can’t fix, but thought I should mention it.
Overall this is (for now) the perfect case for me, and again is of the high quality you expect from Caudabe.
I will add one final note that while I (thankfully) haven’t dropped my phone with this case on, should the unfortunate and frankly inevitable happen, I will leave an updated review to report on how effective or ineffective this case is from typical accidental drops.
