Arduino PLC Starter Kit

Unable to establish connection from OPTO to PLC IDE. Program freezes my computer. I've followed the support from Arduino exactly and still unable to connect to the device. Wiring has been reviewed several times to ensure connection is complete and correct.

The tutorials are outdated and need work

The hardware is pretty cool and has a good fit and finish. My major complaint is that this aims to be an educational kit. Yet the documentation is poor. This kit is meant to teach PLC. The documentation on the IDE is limited to couple basic tasks like making connections downloading programs to the hardware. I expected to learn more about different types of Ladder Logic recipes and function blocks. I even tried implementing some structured text taken from industry standard examples and the PLC IDE won’t compile it. This is probably better suited for someone who has significant experience in controls and automation. Not a new user.
