Mosko wins again!
Recently used the Hood tank bag on T7 from Texas up the Dempster to Tuk and back to Texas. Went through rain, snow and lots of dirt! The Hood tank bag was awesome!

Perfect size and super easy to use
At first I thought it might be a bit small after having the Nomax bag, which I loved. The Nomax just felt too large for my new bike. The Hood has surprisingly a lot of little organization options in it that almost fit me as well as the Nomax. Much easier to use than the Nomax though and waterproof without a rain cover. I bought the extra pouch for the top which is perfect for quick access to gas credit card without getting wallet out, registration and insurance card. Also keep my key for the keyless ride in it unless leaving the bike in a place it may leave without my permission. :-). And keep some hand wipes in that top pouch. That leaves plenty of room for everything else I may want in a tank bag. I do miss the 2 liter water of the Nomax, so I went with a small 2 liter backpack water system. Highly recommend if you are not looking for a 14 liter tang bag as one of your main storage areas on your bike. May be a bit large if you are riding a small dual sport on single track. But anything else it feel perfect. And of course the quality is top notch as always.

Hood tank bag
I’ve owned the Nomax and Gnomd tank bags for a couple years and, while I still think those are great bags, I find the Hood way easier to access things quickly. Plus, if it rains you don’t need to worry about putting a rain cover on which makes access more difficult. Although it doesn’t seem to support a hydration pack I actually carry a large and a small bladder in the hood and just route the hose out through the underside of the lid. To keep the hose handy I tuck the mouthpiece into the Molle webbing on top. It seems as roomy as the Nomax overall, just a different spatial configuration. On my last trip I carried a 2L and 1L hydration bag, camera, sunglasses, wallet, quart ziplock of snacks, tire gauge, extra pair of gloves, and a few other small items I’m forgetting. And, probably most importantly, it was barely noticeable when standing which can sometimes be an issue with a fully loaded Nomax.
